If you are an external user and your delivery type is S/MIME or OpenPGP, you may be able to upload a credential or have a credential generated for you. This credential secures messages sent to your account.

Your account can only have one credential. It can be replaced or removed. A generated credential can also be regenerated.

To upload an S/MIME (.der, .cer, .crt, .p7*) or OpenPGP (.asc) file:

  1. Place a copy of the credential file in a location that is easily accessed.
  2. Select Account > Credentials in the menu.
  3. Browse to and select the credential file.
  4. If necessary for the certificate type, enter the credential password.
  5. Select Upload.
  6. Verify the contents of the certificate and select Accept.

To generate a credential:

  1. Select Account > Credentials in the menu.
  2. Select Generate Credential.
  3. Enter and confirm a password to use with the credential.
  4. Select Generate and, if required by your browser, follow the instructions to save the .pfx file.
  5. Open the generated file, and follow the directions in the wizard to import the credential. For more information, see Import Your Credential.

Your credential is added to your email account and is ready for use.
