Once you have generated a credential in the secure messaging portal, follow the instructions below to import it.
Mobile users: When managing credentials, we recommend using a computer for the best experience. Some mobile devices may save the credential (.pfx file), which you can email to your computer and import using the instructions below. Because you provided a password when you generated the credential, it is encrypted and safe to send via email.
If you cannot find the .pfx file on your mobile device, log in to the secure messaging site from your computer and generate a new credential. Then follow the instructions below to import the credential.
Choose your operating system: Windows or Mac.
Import your generated credential using Windows Certificate Import Wizard:
- Open the credential file you generated. The Certificate Import Wizard opens.
- Select Next on the Welcome screen.
- The file name and path is automatically filled in. Select Next.
- Enter the password used to create the credential. You may also select other options, such as strong private key protection, marking the key as exportable, and including extended properties. Select Next when you are ready to continue.
- Keep the default setting for the Certificate Store and select Next.
- Select Finish.
- You may see a security warning similar to the one below. Select Yes to proceed.
- Select OK in the success dialog box.

Import your generated credential using Mac OS X:
- Double-click the credential you generated to open it.
- When prompted by Keychain Acess, enter the password you created when you generated the credential.
